HERE’S THE BUZZ ABOUT WENDY’S WORK

“Wonderful! The courage and resourcefulness of these three young girls are just what we want our daughters to read about and reflect upon. It’s a gripping story leavened with humor. Imaginative, well-structured and beautifully crafted, it will engage the young reader in high adventure. I’ve ordered a copy for my ten-year-old granddaughter and will get HER to write a review!”

Beverly Tisdale, Reviewer of The Flood

“The story is one of hope, determination, and empathy. Thoughtful strangers reach out to help others. The community effort to rebuild teaches that positive outcomes can arise from adversity. It also includes pets for us animal lovers.I am donating a copy of “The Flood” to our school library. Thank you Wendy Bartlett for new literature to share with my students!”

Beverly Tisdel, assistant grade school teacher and grandmother

“A fascinating tale of a voyage to the South Pacific that turns on the relationship between sailing, sexuality and power.  So well-written, it reads like a spy novel.  A real page turner.”

Art Goldberg, journalist

Art Goldberg, Broad Reach reviewer

“I found this book to be fun and thought-provoking for young children. My four-year-old niece, Olive, would recognize all the activities illustrated in the book. Preschoolers would love to read it over and over.”

Sara Donahue Reed, PhD, Experimental Theater and Education

“Wendy Bartlett, a gifted writer, draws you in to nautical adventure and passions at sea. Broad Reach is a tour de force! Five stars!”

Wendy Bartlett won second prize at the San Francisco Writers Conference for the manuscript for Cellini’s Revenge: The Mystery of the Silver Bowls. With the prize, part of which was a publishing package, she published first Broad Reach, a sailing adventure, and two years later, Cellini’s Revenge I, which will be re-published soon. At the time of this writing, Cellini’s Revenge II is in the process of being edited and Cellini’s Revenge III is in the process of being written. An editor from BAIPA told Wendy that Goodbye With a Kiss, her next novel, might make a good film and Wendy has completed a screenplay for it.
